If you recall, the children were given Van Gogh's Sunflowers as inspiration to create their own painting using watercolours. Here's what they came up with. Not exactly like the famous art piece (LOL!), but I can still appreciate the effort and colour-bleeding techniques used.

We have now completed working on our Famous Artists Series! This week, I'm turning our art focus to creations influenced by the wonderful children's author, Eric Carle. First up is potato-stamped flowers inspired by Carle's book, The Tiny Seed. Then, we'll work on collages based on the book, The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, which celebrates the world in the eyes of a child.

We'll start seed planting this week too! The children are going to test their green thumbs at growing green beans and sunflowers. Over the coming weeks, they will learn how to tend to their plants and watch them sprout before their very eyes. Once a decent root system has been established, they will get to take them home to transplant to larger pots or garden beds.

A gentle reminder that Tuesday is Pajama Day!

On Thursday, Ms. Jane will lead us in Yoga and Mindfulness Enrichment. Jane, Jodi and I have been very impressed by the children's focus and engagement in these sessions. Looking forward to laying out the yoga mats this week!
