Last week, the children were enthused to learn the basics of what makes something magnetic and tested nearly every toy and piece of furniture in our classroom for their magnetic capabilities. They were enthralled by this science concept! You may even want to consider picking up a basic magnet kit for your child out at home? You may suddenly find yourselves with some free time to get things done while they keep themselves busy holding the magnet wands against everything in your home!
This week, we'll start working on what I call our 'Famous Artist Series'. This is a set of art lessons centered on works of art created by famous artists. First up is this abstract piece by Swiss-German artist Paul Klee who executed the technique of cubism in his patented style. We'll use a simple printmaking technique using wood blocks and paint to make our versions of Castle and Sun.
Here's what the original looks like.
On Tuesday, Ms. Michelle will be with us for Dance Enrichment.
