Last week, the class tried their hands at creating a piece of art inspired by Swiss-German artist, Paul Klee. You'll see the original in the centre of the photo below, and the wonderful interpretations the children came up with around it.
This week, we'll work on a Piet Mondrian piece called Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow. It consists of thick, black brushwork, defining the borders of coloured rectangles. Instead of painting the black borders, we'll use black electrical tape to create the rectangles. While the primary colours used by Mondrian look great in his artwork, we'll use colours that are more appealing to the children. Pink, turquoise and lime green are our colours of choice!
