June 2- 6

Thank you everyone for joining me in High Park for our annual picnic on Saturday! I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as I did!

Our caterpillars arrived last Wednesday and the children couldn't take their eyes off of these fuzzy creatures! I think when we arrive at schoo Monday, they will all be hanging upside down ready to form their chrysalises. Hopefully by next week, we will have some beautiful Painted Lady butterflies to admire and release into the pollinator gardens outside.

Here's what our caterpillars looked like when we left on Friday.

Last Thursday, we had a small group attend preschool, but we still took the opportunity to head outdoors for a nature walk. The weather was gorgeous and we got to hang our birdfeeders on the branches of the lilac trees on the school grounds. Here we are enjoying the wonders of nature!

Keeping with our unit on caterpillars and butterflies, we'll use the famous Eric Carle book, The Very Hungry Caterpillars, to work on some art, cognitive and language and literacy activities. I love this unit, it's one I introduce every year as it's always popular with the class!

Monday and Tuesday are Stay for Lunch Days!

Ms. Jane is with us for Yoga & Mindfulness Enrichment this week.

Friday is a PA Day, so only Ms. Jodi and I will be in. No school for the children.
