May 1 - 5

Here we go, it's May! More Spring-focused learning is planned for this week.

Last week's nature walk was awesome! The children explored the sights and sounds of all of the plants, birds, mammals and bugs on our school's property.

Here they are, checking out the new raised garden bed in The Student School's side garden.

I'm excited to take the class to High Park Nature Centre on Tuesday for their Savannah Stewards Program! We will learn about the ecosystems in High Park and how the park has managed to stay a "green island" in the middle of the city.

The children have been asking to play Listening Lotto again, so on Thursday, I'll set this up for Circle Time. If you've never heard of Listening Lotto, it's just like Bingo, but instead of calling out numbers, letters, etc., sounds are played for the children to decipher and then they have to match these sounds to the corresponding pictures on their Bingo cards. This group is particularly enthusiastic about this game!
