May 22 - 26
The long-awaited arrival of our caterpillars is approaching! I hope to have these little critters in their classroom home early this week. Over the coming week(s), we'll observe the stages in the metamorphosis of butterflies. We'll start with caterpillars, watch them form chrysalises, shed their skin and finally emerge as Painted Lady Butterflies. This is a truly amazing transformation and am excited to share it with the children!
To expand and extend our learning on caterpillars and butterflies, I'm setting up various activities inspired by the Eric Carle book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I introduced this story during Circle Time last Friday and the children were mesmerized by it, so I'm sure they are going to engage in all-things related.
Ms. Michelle has moved our Dance Enrichment class from Tuesday to Thursday. I'm looking forward to grooving with the class again!
