A couple of weeks ago, one of the children commented on how they got a shock because of static. I was surprised to hear a 3-year old explain their understanding of this type of electrical energy, and it gave me an idea! Remember the simple science experiment your teachers taught you when you were a kid? Well it's still a hit with little ones!

Since the children enjoyed the experiment on static electricity and given the snow we've recently had, I thought it would be an appropriate time to do an experiment about snow. Stay tuned for how that goes!
There's been a lot of talk about animals lately in our classroom. So, I'm going to bring out a bunch of arctic animal figurines building blocks for the children to create arctic scenes. I've also set up a veterinarian's office in our Pretend Play centre and planned 2 Circle Time games centered on animals this week.
We're off to Winter Wonderland again this Tuesday with Ms. Michelle for Dance Enrichment!
