Lots of newness in our classroom last week!
I introduced our first art activity in my Famous Artists Series. The children used a copy of Paul Klee's Castle and Sun to create their own colourful versions of this piece of art. Here's what they came up with. Not bad for their first try!
We also played our first game of BINGO! Numbers from 1-20 were what the children had to match up on their BINGO cards. Next time, we'll play shapes and colours BINGO.
This week for our Famous Artists Series activity, we'll use Piet Mondrian's Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow as our creative inspiration. We're using black tape to create outlines of squares and rectangles and the children will paint the shapes using tempera blocks. Here's what the original looks like.
Double Enrichment Programming this week! Ms. Maggie is with us on Monday for Yoga & Mindfulness and Ms. Michelle is coming for Dance Enrichment on Tuesday.
