Last week, the children were inspired by Henri Matisse’s The Snail, and created colorful collages. Known for its bold colors and simple shapes, this abstract artwork is playful and fun to re-create.

Here are their finished art pieces!

We'll continue working on our Famous Artists Series with another one of Matisse's colourful creations, The Sheaf.

The children have been participating in Olympic-themed activities, a great way to celebrate the spirit of the games. During our Physical Play time, they took part in a relay race where they displayed awesome teamwork skills! We also used the idea of the Olympic rings to dabble in art and a math/fine motor activities.

We'll continue with more Winter Olympic Games inspired physical play this week with tissue box skating. Should be as fun as it sounds!

It's also Valentine's Day week in our classroom. A variety of learning activities centered around this popular holiday will be available over the next 4 school days. Please remember to drop off Valentine's Cards for the class on Tuesday or Wednesday. V-Day card mailboxes will go home on Thursday.

Monday is Yoga & Mindfulness Enrichment.

Friday is a PA Day, so the school will be closed.
